“Balance in Everyday Life” – The Successful So’Well Week at Veolia

Psychological lectures and community programs supported the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees
So'Well hét piknik

This June, for the third time, we organized Veolia’s wellbeing week under the name So’Well, focusing on the physical and mental health of our colleagues. Throughout the week, hundreds of colleagues joined various programs both in person and online, aiming to manage stress, support mental health, and strengthen community connections.

This year's programs were built around diverse topics. Our speakers approached the psychological processes behind workplace challenges from both professional and personal perspectives, providing practical tools for preventing burnout, communicating more effectively, and managing stress.

Expert lectures for mental balance

During So’Well Week, we supported participants' mental health and self-awareness development with three different themed lectures. Psychologist Dorottya Zele spoke about the role of emotional intelligence in both work and private life, emphasizing how conscious communication and self-reflection can improve the quality of our relationships. Through practical examples, she demonstrated how we can become more empathetic and cooperative colleagues.

Sports psychologist Kristóf Kovács-Kacsur focused in his lecture on how to prevent and manage burnout, helping participants in an accessible way to recognize their own limits and find balance amidst everyday expectations. Psychologist István F. Takács provided insight into the psychological background of work-related stress, with special emphasis on how a performance-oriented culture affects an individual’s mental state—and what we can do to maintain healthy boundaries.

Innovation and community building concluded the week

A special highlight of the week was the introduction of the Veolia Health care by MEDDI application, a modern digital healthcare solution for Veolia employees and their family members. The app offers the possibility to access medical help and advice quickly and easily, directly via mobile phone. During the presentation, participants gained insight into the system’s operation and benefits.

The event series concluded on Friday with a central team-building picnic, where our colleagues could relax together in a casual, friendly atmosphere. The rural sites also enjoyed memorable experiences: at several locations, the day was made special with communal cooking.

We thank all participants, speakers, and organizers for making this week truly a celebration of wellbeing together. We believe that mental balance and physical health are key foundations for a sustainable, people-centered operation and, not least, increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our work.
